Exploring a scene

Each scene is a 3D Gaussian Splatting reconstruction from a capture taken by a person turning in place. You start at the pivot, the centre of that capture; views close to it look best.

Mouse & keyboard

  • drag look around (you grab the scene)
  • W S forward / back, A D left / right
  • E up, Q down
  • ← → left / right, ↑ ↓ up / down (shift forward / back)
  • wheel forward / back

Touch

  • one finger: look around
  • two fingers: drag to move sideways / up, pinch to zoom (field of view)
  • gyro button: turn the phone to look around; drag sideways to recentre. gyro radius swings the camera around a point behind it, like a phone at arm's length, for parallax
  • ▲▼◀▶ pad moves, up / down buttons rise and sink; hide it with the move button

Shortcuts

  • r reset view, p back to the pivot
  • m cycle head motion (off / circle / head bob)
  • b boundary sphere on / off
  • ? this guide

Tips

  • Head motion moves the camera around your position automatically, a circle or a random head-like sway, to show parallax. Set its size and speed in the panel.
  • Stay within 0.5 m of the pivot. A boundary sphere fades in once you are more than 0.3 m away and stops you at its wall; toggle it with b to roam freely. Far from the pivot you will see holes: black means the region was never observed.
  • Scenes marked (fixC_v1) have a pre-fix toggle (f or the panel): it flips to the model before the FixAnything fix (stage 1), keeping your position, so you can compare the filled holes.
  • Large scenes (the real capture is 4.75M splats, 69 MB) need a desktop-class GPU; lower the browser window size if it stutters.
